After losing in an effortless game against the cross-state rival Pittsburgh Penguins by a score of 6-4, the Flyers have acquired a 34-year old defenseman Pavel Kubina from the Tampa Bay Lightning. Sources reveal that the Flyers have given up a second- and fifth-round draft pick in return.
This trade will add even more size to the Flyers as he stands at 6’4″ and weighing 250 pounds. The right handed defenseman has 4 goals and 19 assists so far this season. Kubina is a Czech native who will also add leadership on the defensive side of the ice.

Kubina, if anything, has the intangibles that were lost with Pronger out for the season.
Nash rumors are heating up more than ever now with names being tossed around from JVR and Bobrovsky to Schenn and Couturier. Nash would not be the right call for the Orange and Black at this point because we need a goaltender and the Flyers cannot afford to be losing key components in the offense.
With Bryzgalov having 8 years after this season on his contract, the Flyers won’t give up on him just yet. It should be interesting to see what else Paul Holmgren decides to pull before Feb. 27. He has nine more days so we will see what he truly pulls. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

Please explain your reasoning efiuhev
gotta disagree with Ben on this one.
Absolutely not Robbie and here is why. The Flyers have a dangerous offense and cannot afford to lose any of their components. Couturier and Schenn have amazing careers ahead of them and it wouldn’t be worth the loss of them. The flyers clearly have filled the gap that went missing when Chris Pronger went down and now the only worry is the goalie situation. Paul Holmgren will make the decision best for the team.
Would you include Couturier or Schenn in a deal for Nash?
