During a training session in Texas, Eagles Pro-Bowl left tackle Jason Peters ruptured his achilles on Tuesday. There is no timetable for his recovery, but tests revealed that the surgery has been scheduled for April 2nd, to be done at the Rothman Institute.
However, ESPN medical analyst Dr. Michael Kaplan believes Peters could miss up to six months, meaning he won’t return until early October.
Since there is no timetable at the moment, it’s impossible to determine whether this injury will derail the Eagles’ postseason chances following an impressive free agent showing. However, Peters’ value cannot be overlooked, as he is arguably the best offensive tackle in the league and the anchor of the Eagles’ offensive line. With him out, fans can expect the recently re-signed King Dunlap to replace him at left tackle.
