Well the Flyers finally found their scoring touch in tonight’s rout over the Panthers, scoring 7 goals tonight while only having scored 5 goals before tonight’s game. The Flyers move to 2-3 on the season and look to move to .500 tomorrow in Tampa Bay against Steven Stamkos and the Lightning.
3rd Star: Luke Schenn
Luke Schenn played a great all-around game tonight. He scored his first goal as a Flyer, recorded an assist, led both teams with 11 hits, and was +2. He was very sound on defense with minimal turnovers.
2nd Star: Ilya Bryzgalov
Flyers fans are hoping that Bryz will continue his trend of staying on this list. He stopped 30 out of 31 shots with the only goal coming on a breakaway. Once again, Bryz was the Flyers best penalty killer, making numerous key saves.
1st Star: Matt Read
Matt Read recorded his first career hat trick tonight including a beauty in the first period. He has found great chemistry playing on the first line with Claude Giroux and Wayne Simmonds, a line that will be tough to break up even when Scott Hartnell returns in a month.
