UPDATE: 2/6, 9:52 PM
Panotchio has now reported that the Flyers are very close to a one-year, $6 million deal with the veteran defenseman which is the latest, most credible report out there.
CONFIRMED: Flyers are close to re-signing Timomen to a 1-yr deal worth $6 million. Expect an announcement before end of week—

That is actually not so bad considering Matt Carle got $5.5 million per year in Tampa.
Remember to keep it here for details as they come.

Per Hockey Buzz Eklund, the Philadelphia Flyers have extended the contract of defenseman Kimmo Timonen by one year.
Flyers have extended Kimo Timonen for a year (per a teammate)—

Per CSN Philly Flyers insider Tim Panotchio, however, nothing is done officially:
Asked about rumors per Hockeybuzz that the #Flyers have re-signed Timonen for one year, GM P. Holmgren: "Nothing to announce at this time."—
Tim Panaccio (@tpanotchCSN) February 07, 2013
He would later Tweet that GM Paul Holmgren remarked that talks were underway but nothing is set in stone.
In 5 1/4 seasons, Timmonen has racked up 28 goals, 183 assists, and a +38 ratio. He’s also one of the league leaders in shots blocked, recording 175 in 2010-2011 as a Flyer. Timonen is currently the team’s associate captain and has made it to two All-Star games as a Flyer.
We are awaiting more details from the team, and will update following that.
