Temple Still on Top, Knock off GW

Ramone Moore's impressive performance guided Temple past GW.

Last night, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Temple (18-5, 7-2 A10) played host to a struggling George Washington (8-16, 3-7 A10) team. The Owls came out with an early lead, but then struggled against GW, going into the half down 41-29. Then, in one of the best second halves of the season, the Owls marched back and had cut the score to 49-41 at the first media time out. Like in the first half George Washington then took control for the next couple of minutes, but then with 4:16 T.J. Delio made a three that put Temple back to just down four. The dagger in the heart for George Washington was a Ramone Moore three pointer with three minutes left to put the Owls up by two, the Owls never looked back.

The Bright spot of the whole game for the owls was Ramone Moore who scored 25 points, had 4 assists, and a solid 4 rebounds. The Owls showed there resiliency today by bouncing back from a late twelve point deficit in the second half. The other bright spot for the Owls was Kalif Wyatt who had 22 points in the game and 6 points in the final thirty seconds to help seal the seal.

The Owls are currently in the sole lead of the Atlantic 10 and have a .5 game lead over UMass, Xavier, and Saint Louis. They also lead fellow Philly squad La Salle by 1.5.
