Timonen and Meszaros Out Indefinitely

Defenseman Kimmo Timonen and Andrej Meszaros are both out indefinitely with lower-body injuries.

These guys are two of the Flyers' best defensemen, so their being out could be a problem.

With three key defenseman missing practice on Saturday, two of them are out with injuries. Braydon Coburn, Kimmo Timonen, and Andrej Meszaros all missed practice Saturday and the only one to be in the lineup Sunday night against the Washington Capitals is Braydon Coburn.

Reporters were told by the Flyers organization that all three defenseman had maintenance days. Because Kimmo Timonen will not play Sunday night, his streak of 248 games played in a row is over.

As a result, Erik Gustafsson was called up from the Adirondack Phantoms on Saturday to be paired up with Andres Lilja the following night. This is also Andres Lilja’s first game back since February 16. Peter Laviolette stated to reporters on Sunday that Erik is a “puck-moving” defenseman. Erik has played with Lilja before so far this year in a few pre-season games and also the game before Erik was sent back down to Adirondack.
