Eagles Place Nick Foles on Injured Reserve

According to the Philadelphia Eagles’ official Twitter account, Andy Reid has placed Nick Foles—who suffered a hairline fracture in Sunday’s loss—on injured reserve. This means there is no doubt he will miss Sunday’s game because he is ineligible to return this season:

In his rookie year, Foles completed 60.8% of his passes for 1699 yards, 6 touchdowns, and five interceptions. The most important statistic, however, is that as a starter Foles went 1-5. Michael Vick, who was 3-6 as a starter, will start at QB against the New York Giants this week and if he does win, Foles’ injury could pave the way for a hot QB discussion that was silent only three days ago.

To take Foles’ roster spot, the Eagles have brought back defensive tackle Antonio Dixon. A former Eagle, Dixon played in two games for Indianapolis this season where he recorded 2 tackles. In three earlier seasons with Philadelphia, Dixon racked up 49 tackles and two sacks.
