Philadelphia 76ers: Andrew Bynum Update

Star center for the Philadelphia 76ers, Andrew Bynum has yet to play for his new team. The Sixers planned on shutting Bynum down for three weeks after receiving treatment in Germany, but after a bowling incident it then became three months.

Recently, Bynum has been working hard to rehabilitate his knee and it has been reported that he is looking forward to returning around the All-Star break. He has been doing non-contact drills and running on the treadmill.

The All-Star game is February 15th and the team would like to have a detailed update on his status by the February 21st trade deadline. There might not be many teams interested if his knees are bad enough to trade him before even playing a game. The Sixers could certainly use Bynum in their lineup and their 16-22 record shows it.

Not only are their other big men suffering from the lack of a star, but the jump shooters the Sixers brought in over the offseason have paid the price. Now opposing teams have made the perimeter a priority, something that would change with Bynum anchoring the paint.
