Flyers 3 Stars: Voracek, B. Schenn Lead Flyers Over ‘Canes

The Flyers close out their 4-game home stand on high note with a 4-3 OT win over the Carolina Hurricanes. After a quick start by the ‘Canes, the Flyers rallied back to move into playoff position for the moment. Let’s took a look at the 3 stars of today matinee game.

3rd Star: Danny Briere Mr. Clutch does it again, scoring the game-winner in overtime. Danny lead the team with 5 shots including multiple quality chances down low. It looks like Danny has found his scoring touch, something the Flyers will need to succeed.

2nd Star: Jake Voracek

Voracek found his skating legs this afternoon as he was flying around the ice.  Jake registered 1 goal and 1 assist. In the 3rd period, Jake got to play with Claude Giroux and Matt Read  and created some very good scoring chances. Jake is starting to look like player the Blue Jackets hoped for when they drafted him 7th overall in the 2007 entry draft.

1st Star: Brayden Schenn Schenn looked liked more like the player he was during the lockout with the Adirondack Phantoms. He notched 1 goal and 2 assist and was +3. Schenn was solid on defense and as always threw some punishing hits on the forecheck. In addition to having 3 point today, he has registered 6 points in his last 5 games.
