Flyers 3 Stars: Read, Knuble Shine In Loss to Devils

After quite the performance in the first period, the Flyers let the Devils come back. The Flyers once again could not put together a solid 60-minute effort. They are going to need to tsop taking periods off if they want to make the playoffs. The Flyers will look to avenge this tough loss tomorrow night in Montreal.

3rd Star: Wayne Simmonds

Wayne Simmonds scored a beauty of a goal in the first period on the powerplay. Once again, he was parked right in front of the net. The Flyers need to keep throwing puck at the net when he is in front to generate secondary scoring chances.

2nd Star: Mike Knuble

Mike Knuble scored his 18th career goal against Marty Brodeur tonight, pretty impressive considering he is the best goalie of all time. It was nice to see Mike score a pretty goal for once, as most of his goals are greasy goals in front of the net. The Flyers are going to need him to continue his goal scoring pace for any chance of succeeding this season.

1st Star: Matt Read

Reader cored a beauty one-timer in the first period to make the game 3-1. Too bad the Flyers couldn’t take advantage of this goal. Reader was flying all night, creating numerous chances. He has found great chemistry with Wayne Simmonds and Claude Giroux.
