Sixers Sign Jeremy Pargo for the Remainder of the Season

The Philadelphia 76ers have signed point guard Jeremy Pargo for the remainder of the season. The 6’2″ was originally signed to a 10-day contract earlier in the month. In his 4 games on the Sixers roster he had 2 games with double-digit scoring. He showed the Sixers that he deserved a spot on their roster and the team decided to sign him for this year.

Earlier in the season, Pargo was on the Cavaliers roster. He got released when the Cavs received Marreese Speights, Wayne Ellington and Josh Selby in a trade with Memphis. On the Cavs Pargo played in 25 games and started 11 of those games.

On the season he is averaging 7.5 points and 2.5 assists in 23.7 minutes per game. Pargo is a second year player who can handle the ball. When Pargo is in he allows Jrue Holliday to work off the ball making Jrue more of an effective scorer. Pargo also takes some of the bulk of the ball handling duties away from Jrue. This allows Doug Collins to give Jrue more rest, because without Pargo, Jrue is the only true point guard on the team. Pargo is overall a solid player who can bring some quality minutes off the bench to fill in for Jrue.
