As the Eagles continue to move on past the “Dream Team” era, it appears that they will be seeing more of one of the better players from that regime. Defensive tackle Cullen Jenkins has signed a three-year contract with the rival New York Giants worth $8 million.
If there was one player from the 2011 shopping spree that had any impact, it was Jenkins. Although his infamous sideline shouting match with Andy Reid was just another black eye, that goes along with Vince Young’s dream team comment. Ronnie Browns goal line option throw that cost them a win, Nnamdi Asomugha apparently eating lunch in his car instead of with his teammates, Domique Rodgers-Cromartie taking plays off, and Jason Babin being a menance in the locker room. Jenkins may come back to haunt them as a Giant, but for the betterment of the Eagles in the long run, it was time to move on.
