The Philadelphia Eagles have announced the signings of safety Kenny Phillips, 26, and cornerback Cary Williams, 28.
Phillips was signed to a one year deal. He appeared in 7 games with the Giants last season with 24 tackles. Phillips had 82 tackles, four interceptions, and one forced fumble when he was healthy the season before. Phillips’ tackle and interception numbers were career highs that year, to go along with 11 pass deflections. The 6′ 2″ 217 pound Miami, Florida native was the Giants’ 2008 1st Round Pick. Phillips won the Super Bowl in 2012.
Williams was signed to a three year $17 million deal with $10.5 million guaranteed. He appeared in 16 games with the Super Bowl champion Ravens last season with 75 tackles and four interceptions. Williams sealed the victorys in the Ravens’ Wild Card and AFC Conference Championship Games with late fourth quarter interceptions. The 6′ 1″ 190 pound also Miami, Florida native was the Titans’ 2008 7th Round Pick.
