Philadelphia Eagles Announce New Jersey Numbers For Barwin, Chung, Other FAs

The Philadelphia Eagles have announced a couple of jersey numbers pertaining to their recent free agent additions.

They are the following:

OLB Connor Barwin – #98

QB Dennis Dixon – #3

SS Patrick Chung – #23

CB Bradley Fletcher – #24

TE/FB James Casey – #85

NT Isaac Sopoaga – #97

Four of those numbers are recycled. Isaac Sopoaga, who replaces Cullen Jenkins as the team’s most experienced defensive tackle, will also take the latter’s number, 97. Connor Barwin is taking Mike Patterson’s, who the Eagles also released, No. 98 which he wore while playing in Houston.

You can also see that the Eagles are looking to quickly move on from the Asomugha (#24)/DRC (#23) era. Both of their numbers were taken by incoming defensive backs.

Players who still need numbers are Arrelious Benn, Cary Williams, and Kenny Phillips. Benn’s No. 17 is available, so he’ll likely take that number. Williams (#29 – Nate Allen) and Phillips (#21 – David Sims), however, need to find new numbers.
