Cody’s ability to dominate on all ends of the floor will help him dramatically in this years NBA draft. The way he can dominate a game and take over the paint is very special. As seen this past year, there would be many instances where the Hoosiers would depend on Zeller and his post moves. Standing at 7′ tall, his technical skills combined with his height makes for a scary combination.

In transition, I have never seen a big man run the floor as well as Zeller. This is a guy who wants the ball in his hands and sprints on every possession. He shows a phenomenal understanding of basketball and was coached by arguably the best coach in the country, Tom Creen. “What Cody means to Indiana, it’s much like Victor, it’s hard to describe it and it’s hard to put it into words, but what Cody has done has helped raise the level of every person in this program — every coach, every player, every manager and that’s not an easy feat.” (Yahoo.com)

Green definitely knows what he is talking about, and if he is praising Zeller, you know that Cody is a player.

Weaknesses

Throughout the season this year, Indiana was involved in some tough games. Towards the end, I would constantly ask myself, “Where is Cody Zeller?” Unfortunately, he would always disappear in key games when the Hoosiers needed him to step up. Fortunately for Zeller, he had Victor Oladipo to bail him out. The Sixers don’t really have a player that can completely control a game maybe besides Jrue Holiday. If Cody wants to be a top 10 pick, he needs to be able to dominate the paint the whole game.

Should the Sixers draft him?

The 76ers need a big man that can dominate the paint and control the game. There aren’t many big man options in this year’s draft, so the Sixers are going to need to make a decision. Zeller is a talented player who still has great potential. I think the Sixers need to take the risk and draft Cody Zeller because of how much they need a presence in the paint.
