Flyers, Giroux Agree On Contract Extension

Flyers captain Claude Giroux has agreed to an 8 year contract with the Flyers worth $66.2 million. This deal locks Giroux down through the 2022-23 NHL season.

Giroux posted 48 points in 48 games with the Flyers last season. Giroux was drafted 22nd overall by the Flyers in the 2006 draft and ended up being a diamond in the rough. Giroux has established himself as one of the top forwards on the league over the past three years. In those 3 years Giroux has been arguably the best forward, and player on the team. He is a two-time All-Star and will hopefully add more All-Star games and trophies to his resume throughout this deal.
