Phillip Hunt Tears ACL, Undergoes Surgery

Something is up with the Eagles’ practice turf. The Eagles have now confirmed Adam Caplan’s report that OLB Phillip Hunt has torn his anterior cruciate ligament, and underwent successful surgery today. As with all ACL injuries, he is likely to miss much if not all of the regular season.

Hunt is the fourth Eagle to tear his ACL in practice (Jeremy Maclin, Arrelious Benn, Jason Phillips). He had been competing for an OLB spot with guys like Chris McCoy and Joe Kruger, but will likely be placed on Injured Reserve. Hunt had 8 tackles and 1.0 sack in 2012-2013 with the Eagles.
