The Philadelphia Eagles have a starting quarterback! At a press conference today, Kelly informed the media that Michael Vick will start Week 1 against Washington and is the team’s “starter for the season.”
Vick and Nick Foles have been engaged in a QB competition since Day 1, but Vick has been the more dynamic QB in Chip Kelly’s up-tempo, read-option offense. He is 13-for-16 with 199 yards and a score this preseason, and his throws have been extremely crisp all training camp/preseason long.
It will be exciting to see how dangerous this offense can be with Vick, DeSean Jackson, and LeSean McCoy this season.
Kelly informed his two QBs of his decision this morning.
