The Philadelphia Flyers are off to the worst start in franchise history at 1-7-0, and are currently last in the NHL with only two points. It seems that they are ready to make a splash to turn things around.

Josh Rimer of is reporting that the Flyers have contacted the Vancouver Canucks about forwards Henrik (C) and Daniel (LW) Sedin. The two would likely be packaged together if dealt given their long history together and their unparalleled chemistry.

The Sedins, 33, have been the best pair of twins in NHL history, posting incredible numbers year after year. They have combined for 476 goals and 1092 assists, now in their 13th seasons in the league.

If the Flyers were to deal for the Sedins, it’s likely at least two of the following would be dealt in addition to a high draft pick or two: Sean Couturier, Matt Read, Scott Laughton, Brayden Schenn, Wayne Simmonds, or Michael Raffl.

We want to hear your opinion! Comment below whether you think Holmgren should make a strong play for the Sedins.

If they blow up the core of young players it better be for a guy like Weber,Keith or Seabrook

Trading Schenn Courtier or Simmonds or Read for those two guys would be such a mistake. Just what the Flyers need. Adding two more guys in their mid 30’s to go with guys like Lecavlier Streit Hartnell and Timmonen. And getting those two still doesn’t get you in to the playoffs. Fire Holgrem now before he does any more damage to this franchise

I dont trade 2 young guys for a pair of 33 year olds. We need to get younger and faster. Yes i know their good players, but for a playoff contending team. Not a team in need of a total rebuild.

The only way I support the Flyers trading a couple of their young guys is if it nets us one of the league’s top defensemen (Yandle, Weber, etc)
