Flyers Trade News: Vinny Lecavalier’s Agent Has Permission to Talk to Other Teams

The Philadelphia Flyers have made it apparent that they are looking to move veteran forward Vinny Lecavalier, and today that process just took a step forward.

According to TSN’s Darren Dreger, GM Ron Hextall has given Lecavalier’s agent, Kent Hughes, permission to speak with other teams about a potential trade.

As Dreger points out, a trade before July 1 is unlikely as he will then have to paid his bonus, but afterward the Flyers will likely have several teams inquiring once Lecavalier’s agent is able to discern which teams the 34-year old center will be willing to waive his no-trade clause for. With $4.5 million left on his deal for each of the next four years, getting quality in return for Lecavalier will be difficult.
