Report: Sixers Have Deal In Place For Jeremy Lin, First-Round Pick(s)

According to Jake Pavorsky of Liberty Ballers, the Philadelphia 76ers and Houston Rockets have a deal in place that would send Jeremy Lin and at least one first-rounder to the Sixers in exchange for taking on Lin’s $8.6 million cap hit and $15 million salary.

If—when, in my opinion—the Rockets sign Chris Bosh to the max contract they have already offered him, it is likely this deal goes through relatively quickly. And that could be sooner rather than later with LeBron James reportedly deciding to head back to Cleveland, which would likely prompt Bosh to choose Houston over staying in Miami.

The “third piece” Pavorsky mentions is of interest. If it is a second-round pick, the trade is still a great one for Sam Hinkie, but if it is somehow one of Houston’s appealing young assets—like draft pick Clint Capela—the Sixers may have made yet another highway robbery of an NBA team.

It is still unknown what would be heading back to Houston in such a trade.
