After being released earlier this week by the Toronto Raptors, free agent point guard Julyan Stone cleared waivers and is now in “strong discussions” with the Philadelphia 76ers, according to RealGM.
Stone, 25, comes in at 6’6″ and 200 pounds, making him one of the bigger guards around. He once again fits the mold of tall, long point guards that Sam Hinkie and Brett Brown seem to like (see: Michael Carter-Williams).
In three NBA seasons, Stone has a total of just 61 points and 51 assists in 327 minutes. Still, his win shares per 48 minutes are still higher than Iman Shumpert (.061 to .048), a reported Sixers trade target.
