After the last 48 hours, in which Philadelphia Eagles traded LeSean McCoy, cut Trent Cole, Cary Williams, and Todd Herremans, and have yet to re-sign Jeremy Maclin and Brandon Graham, many wonder in what direction the franchise is headed.
Some of those people include current Eagles players. Ron Jaworski said on 97.5 the Fanatic that these very players, who he had conversations with over the last 24 hours, give him the impression that the Eagles’ locker room is “shattered” after these moves.
Social media posts suggested as much:
Jaworski suggested that respect and loyalty is a two-way street, and that players may not feel their buying into Chip Kelly’s culture is being reciprocated with those two things. Players who have bought into his culture and worked with him to implement his system are being let go of, and while cap space is certainly an issue, that issue may not register with players just fighting to remain employed.
If true, Kelly could potentially lose the locker room and alienate segments of his roster, which could spell disaster for the coming season.
