According to numerous reports, the Philadelphia Eagles have re-signed quarterback Mark Sanchez to a two-year deal worth $9 million with $5.5 million guaranteed. Incentives could take the value of the deal up to $16 million, as The Inquirer’s Jeff McLane reported.
Sanchez took over from Nick Foles when the latter broke his collarbone. He completed 64.1 percent of his passes for 2418 yards, 14 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. He finished the season 4-4 as a starter after Foles led the team to an 8-2 record.
This contract does not definitively point to whether or not Chip Kelly will be moving Foles (likely to get Marcus Mariota), but it sure does make the next two months that much more interesting.
